"Blessed are the poor in spirit,
for theirs is the kingdom of heaven. Blessed are those
who mourn, for they will be
comforted. Blessed are the meek, for they will inherit
the earth. Blessed are those
who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they will be
filled. Blessed are the merciful,
for they will be shown mercy. Blessed are the pure in
heart, for they will see God.
Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons
of God. Blessed are those who
are persecuted because of righteousness,
for theirs is
the kingdom of heaven. Blessed
are you when people insult you, persecute you and
falsely say all kinds of evil
against you because of me." (Mat 5:3-11)
"Blessed is the man who does not fall away on account of me." (Mat 11:6)
Then the King will say to those
on his right, "Come, you who are blessed by my
Father; take your inheritance,
the kingdom prepared for you since the creation of
the world. For I was hungry
and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and
you gave me something to drink,
I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed
clothes and you clothed me,
I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and
you came to visit me." (Mat
25:34-36)
Looking at his disciples, he said:
"Blessed are you who are poor, for yours is the
kingdom of God. Blessed are
you who hunger now, for you will be satisfied. Blessed
are you who weep now, for you
will laugh. Blessed are you when men hate you, when
they exclude you and insult
you and reject your name as evil, because of the Son of Man. Rejoice in
that day and leap for joy, because great is your reward in heaven. For
that is
how their fathers treated the
prophets."
"But woe to you who are rich,
for you have already received your comfort. Woe to you
who are well fed now, for you
will go hungry. Woe to you who laugh now, for you will mourn and weep.
Woe to you when all men speak well of you, for that is how their
fathers treated the false prophets
...." (Luke 6:20-26)
As Jesus was saying these things,
a woman in the crowd called out, "Blessed is the
mother who gave you birth and nursed
you." He replied, "Blessed rather are those who
hear the word of God and obey
it." (Luke 11:27,28)
"But when you give a banquet,
invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, the blind, and
you will be blessed. Although
they cannot repay you, you will be repaid at the
resurrection of the righteous.
When one of those at the table with him heard this, he
said to Jesus, "Blessed is the
man who will eat at the feast in the kingdom of God."
(Luke 14:13-15)
"Now that you know these things, you will be blessed if you do them." (John 13:17)
Then Jesus told him, "Because
you have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those
who have not seen and yet have
believed." (John 20:29)
"When God raised up his servant,
he sent him first to you to bless you by turning each
of you from your wicked ways."
(Acts 3:26)
"In everything I did, I showed you that by this kind of hard work we must help the weak, remembering the words the Lord Jesus himself said: It is more blessed to give than to receive." (Acts 20:35)

"So whatever you believe about these things keep between yourself and God. Blessed is the man who does not condemn himself by what he approves." (Rom 14:22)
"So those who have faith are blessed along with Abraham, the man of faith." (Gal 3:9)
"Blessed is the man who perseveres
under trial, because when he has stood the test, he
will receive the crown of life
that God has promised to those who love him." (James 1:12)
"But the man who looks intently into the perfect law that gives freedom, and continues to do this, not forgetting what he has heard, but doing it -- he will be blessed in what he does." (James 1:25)
"As you know, we consider blessed those who have persevered. You have heard of Job's perseverance and have seen what the Lord finally brought about. The Lord is full of compassion and mercy." (James 5:11)
"But even if you should suffer for
what is right, you are blessed. "Do not fear what they
fear; do not be frightened." (1Pet
3:14)
"If you are insulted because of
the name of Christ, you are blessed, for the Spirit of glory
and of God rests on you." (1Pet
4:14)
"Blessed is the one who reads the words of this prophecy, and blessed are those who hear it and take to heart what is written in it, because the time is near." (Rev 1:3)

Blessed are those who are invited to the wedding supper
of the Lamb! And
he added, "These are the true words of God." (Rev 19:9)

is he who keeps the words of the prophecy in this
book." (Rev 22:7)
"Blessed are those who wash their
robes, that they may have the right to the tree of life and may go through
the gates into the city. (Rev 22:14)
Unlike what those who are of
this world might say, one who is Scripturally "blessed"
is blessed because of his spiritual
condition. It has nothing to do with his material possessions, influence,
physical health, or anything else that is temporal. With all this
in mind, dear reader, are you "blessed,"
according to the New Testament?
