~ Loving Him ~
Lord, when
you hung between the earth and skies,
with tear-stained
face, as blood ran down Your thighs,
in agony,
sharp thorns upon Your head,
and no
one near through all Your hours of dread,
could You
have known the times that I would flee
and go
my own way, thinking I'd be free;
unable,
in my sin, to understand
the price
of justice, holiness demands?
Lord, how
I weep when I reflect on this –
the pain
You took to flood my soul with bliss,
that in
Your Book of Life my name could be,
I scarce
can comprehend Love’s mystery!
Lord teach
me to survey Your wondrous cross,
that I
may gladly share and suffer loss,
that I
may happily lose all for Your name,
for it
was You who loved me in my shame.
And it
was You who took my filth and sin,
renewed
my heart and made me whole again.
Lord,
please forgive me, that I took so long
to honor
You with my most loving song.
And thank
You, Lord, for waiting patiently,
for never
letting go – for carrying me,
until
at last I ran toward Heaven’s home
where
mercy flows so freely from Your throne!
And now
I ask, dear Lord, come hear my prayer:
Please
help me love the brethren with such care
as You have
loved me – feeding me Life’s Bread,
You died that
you might raise us from the dead!
Oh Lord,
I worship You, most gracious One,
I crown
You with my love and all I own.
My greatest
pleasure is to sing Your praise
and gaze
upon Your glory all my days!
