Sometimes. . .
Sometimes I sit by window-side
and gaze out on the sky,
just wondering at the Hands that made
the rain and clouds… then I
remember when my Granny told
me how so long ago –
the LORD of Hosts, more pure than gold
had formed the first rainbow
to promise He would ne’er again
destroy the earth by flood –
perhaps it was a shadow, then
of His promised, precious blood.
Sometimes I sit by window-side
and gaze out on the sky,
as His Creation speaks to me –
a sinner, and I cry
for joy at how He's healed my heart
and drawn me with His love,
and sorrow for the times I’ve pierced
my Lord enthroned above
in Heaven at the Father’s right hand,
His blood – the offering,
so I may one day bow before
my Maker, Lord and King –
