Looking Glass

The water was so calm. The waves drew nigh
upon a sea of glass aqua-marine,
reflecting back the image of the sky,
milk clouds, and all the tender shoots of spring.

Soft, pallid colors faded all around
creating curves and shadows, splendidly.
The heavens shone upon a clear background,
and so a looking glass became the sea.

'Tis such a mystery, this world of God's,
which we may never fully understand.
His mirror-lakes reflect the moon and stars;
His shining waters mimic trees and land!

How wondrous is the art which God displays;
reflections of His kind and loving ways.
