This is a Matchbox Speed Kings K-22 Dodge Dragster (larger than 1:64 scale. This car is about 4.5 inches long) dated 1971, in desperate need of restoration. It looks like it was painted inside and out with some thick green Testors. Yuck! Here you see it soaking in thinner.

Here it is in it's bare form setting on it's original wheels. This is sort of what it looked like 28 years ago.

The wheel change will be a large 5-spoke on the front. What I did was take the original axle and slightly sharpened it on one end, slid the 5-spokes through the axle, then crimped the end over so that the wheel will have a hub. After bending the axle over, using a dremel I cut off the excess so a little of the bend is showing, and slid them back into the original place. The back wheels are done in the same fashion.

This is going to be fun!

This will be our motor donor.

Here is how it looks on it's new set of wheels:

Here it is buffed and polished, ready for paint.

slap a coat of Hot Customs Spectraflame Pink on it, and Voila! C'est fini.
