One Day in the Life of an IEP Student

The Intensive English Program at the U.C.Davis Extension Center offers international students a great opportunity to improve their English skills. What do these students do when they are not in class? To answer this question, let's observe a typical day in the life of my Kuwaiti classmate, Fadhel Al-Enezi. Fadhel wakes up at 7:15. Later, he takes a shower, gets dressed, and prepares his breakfast. Afterwards he goes to the University Extension Center for his first class, which begins at 9. At noon he has lunch. He finishes his classes at 3:30. After class, like many students, he goes home. There he takes a nap. Up to this point, his day is similar in most respects to that of all IEP students. After his nap, he does his homework. Afterwards he eats dinner. Sometimes he goes out with his friends and later they go to the Graduate to play billiards. Before going to sleep he watches TV or listens to music for a while. He goes to bed at 2 am unless he goes out. Life at the University Extension Center is not really exciting -- it's pretty much like any other school or university. The differences are in the way everyone takes his classes and the different activities everyone has in his free time.
