Conversation & Tutoring- Tired of the same 'ol schtich? Come hang out at a location only known to Davis locals, like Delta of Venus!

IM Softball Practice- Hello out there in softball land….Waasap? Chris and I want to tell all of you that we are having lots of fun and we are most proud of the fact that you are all improving your softball knowledge and skills. Play hard, life's short!

Guitar Club- Feeling blue? Come practice your guitar and learn to express yourself creatively through music. All levels are welcome!

Conversation & Tutoring- The sun will come out! Ask your conversation partners to meet outside under the trees. Avoid the curse of the flourescent lamps and come practice pontification!!

Conversation, Tutoring & Language Games!! Learn more idioms and American slang! This week, let's concentrate on having a good time - but we'll have to try really hard - NOT!

Survival Cooking- Last week's BBQ was a success! We had mom's version of the American hamburger! Thai style stir fry sure sounds good for this week! Know of any good desserts?

Cinema Discussion- "In & Out" Kevin Kline, a small-town English professor, is shocked when his former pupil (played by Matt Dillon) announces on television that his high school professor (Kevin Kline) is gay. Come see this interesting comedy, and learn about small-town American culture and stereotypes about homosexuals. Same bat channel -Redwood Room, same bat time 3:30pm.

Distinguished Speaker Series- sponsored by ASUCD Student Forums. Author, director and actress, Maya Angelou. The talk will start at 8:00pm in the Recreation Hall - check it out!

Friday, May 15

Ice Cream and Volleyball - Sugar or plain? Come get a scoop and practice your bump, set, spike!

Street Dance-
Fun - Show up and learn some new moves for the upcoming DANCE PARTY!!! Performance - Who wants to give the performance of their life? Show up and it can happen - it only takes a little practice.
Location: Meet at the Silo Dance studio
Fun Time: 3:30pm-4:30pm
Performance: 4:30pm-6:00pm

American Cultural Connections- I hope all of you have enjoyed all of the activities so far! This Sunday we will volunteer at a local garden owned by a unique housing cooperative called Sunwise. This is one of three housing cooperatives offered by the Solar Community Housing (a non-profit organization). Come and enjoy working in the garden and sharing the experience with Americans. They will provide lunches in return for our assistance. Please wear comfortable clothes! Contact Jonny at 758-5948 if you need a ride, or have any questions.

Sunday 17th - meet at the Extension Center at 8:30am or at the Coop at 9:00am.

Academic Tidbits - You will receive your midterm grades this week. Remember that if you have any NP's or Incompletes that you are in jeopardy of not receiving your certificate or falling out of good standing with immigration.
