Deed for Sowder Cemetery

For and in consideration of the sum of one dollar and the matters herein after stated, we W.H. Sowder and wife Adaline Sowder, of Claiborne County, Tennessee hereby sell, transfer and convey to James Sowder as trustee, a certain tract or parcel of land situated and lying in the 6th civil district of Claiborne County, Tennessee, the same being the tract or plot of land on the farm which we now own about one mile north of the town of Arthur and known as the family grave yard or burrying ground and bounded as follows: Beginning on a set stone; thence west 75 feet to a stone; thence south 75 feet to a stone; thence east 75 feet to a stone; thence north 75 feet to the beginning.

To have and to hold the said premises to the said James Sowder and his heirs forever in the trust for the following purposes and no other. That is to say that I am desireous of dedicating said lot for the purpose of a burrying ground for myself and for all the members of my family and their descendants for ever, and for the purpose of lodging the legal title some where I have hereby created the said James Sowder trustee and conveyed the same to him in trust to be forever held by him and his heirs as such trustee forever for the sold purpose above set out. Also a convenient way of ingress and egress is hereby excepted and reserved over my said farm to and from said burrying ground herein dedicated, which way of ingress and egress is reserved for myself and all the member of my family and their descendants forever

In testimony whereof we hereunto subscribe our names on this 4th day of March, 1915.

Personally appeared before me, J.R. Ketron, a notary public in and for said county, the within named bargainors, W.H. Sowder and his wife, Adaline Sowder, with whom I am personally acquainted and who acknowledge that they executed the within instrument for the purpose therein contained. And Adaline Sowder, wife of the said W.H. Sowder, having appeared before me privately and apart from her said husband, the said Adaline Sowder acknowledged the execution of said deed to have been done by her freely, Voluntarily and under standingly, without compulsion or constraint from her said husband and for the purposes therein expressed. Witness my hand and offical seal at office this March 4th, 1915.
