The spare wheel had to be moved so that I could fit in all my camping and recovery gear for weekend trips. (Isn't that why we have 4WDs?) The Kaymar bar put the spare wheel on the gutter (kerb?) side so that it could be opened when parked without blocking the road. It also came with a neat camping light that I felt was far too portable to be left on all the time!

With four children, and even with an external carrier for the spare wheel, this is the only way I can take the family camping with the jeep's small boot. The roofbag seemed the best option because it keeps the load as low as possible and is totally waterproof. All the bedding and bags fit in, leaving the boot for the heavier items.

Child number four goes into a custom made seat which fits in place of the internal spare. Now that the children have grown this seat is for sale. Purchase cost was $580. Make an offer!
