Growth: Slow to moderate rate of growth to 1' high by 5' wide
Form: Large, dense mat
Leaves: Bluish; juvenile leaves sharp awls; adult leaves like scales
Fruit: 1/4 inch cones like berries
Exposure: Full sun or light shade
Water: Monthly in summer, more in sandy soils
Soil: Any well drained soil
Fertilizer: Not needed
Prune: Head to shape and, if desired, to keep from mounding
Problems: Mites and twig borers are possible

Used in the landscape as a dense ground cover. This Juniper will cascade over walls. Good in rock gardens. Popular for bonsai.
