Racing Weekend of June 11, 1999

It was a busy weekend for the Stewart Motorsports Sprint Car Racing Team as they traveled to LimaLand Motorsports Park on Friday night and to Oak Shade Raceway on Saturday night. The Sunday show scheduled to run at Millstream Speedway, in Findlay was cancelled.

On Friday night, 25 sprint cars were in attendance at LimaLand Motorsports Park for the Packard Grille 360 Show. JR started 5th in the 2nd heat and moved up to a 4th place finish, which transferred him into the A-main. JR started 12th in the feature and came home with an impressive 8th place finish.

At Oak Shade Raceway on Saturday night, two Sprint Car sanctions were in attendance, the NRA 360 Sprints and the Sprints on Dirt, 44 cars in all. The Stewart Motorsports Sprint Car started at the tail of 11 sprint cars in the 3rd heat race. JR guided the car to a 5th place finish but was not good enough for a transfer spot into the A-main. Starting 8th in the 12-lap B-main, JR came away with a 2nd place finish which was good enough to get him into the A-main. In the feature, JR started 20th out of 20 cars. In a race that was slowed by three cautions, JR was able to bring the yellow number 37 sprint car home to a great 9th place finish!
