CHARGING CYLINDER CORRECTION FACTORS
Most refrigerant blends are suitable for use with charging cylinders. The following temperature correction factors are used with the standard CFC-12, HCFC-22 scale:
Simply multiply the quantity of refrigerant required, by weight, by the correction factor and read on the HCFC-22 scale. Remember that blends need to come out of the container as a liquid to prevent fractionation. (The best method is to use Thermal Engineering's model 7701 Rapid Vapor Charging Device.)

Charging cylinders are perfect for carrying small amounts of refrigerant that can be purchased in larger, more economical containers. There are also a great alternative when an electronic scale is not available.
*These can be read directly off the R22 scale.
** Purchase a printed HFC-134a scale if using this refrigerant exclusively.
