Sally Sittnick places first

By Cava Sittnick
Sally Sittnick was awarded first place at the Cross Creek Council Young Writers Competition.
She won in the first grade poetry division. At a reception honoring the winners, she received a trophy and copy of the published collection of selected writings. Her poem follows:

                 Snow at Night
Orange cat walking in the snow
          On a dark purple night
     Shiny little snowflakes falling
                That are white.

This represents a huge growth for Sally, since her first written complete sentence in first grade was "My Dad was mad at the cat." She illustrated it too. Her cat loving teacher never quite warmed up to us.
Sally and Mack both completed a banner weekend. Sally performed in the Spring ballet recital and Mack scored his first ice hockey goal of the season!
We still offer a standing open house invitation to anyone traveling our way. We always have room!
