Sam and I have been having a great summer. His tennis team won the city championship. They got into the finals by only one match -- Sam's. He was something of a hero at school for a while. He has been on his swim team again this summer and done very well, occasionally swimming in the next highest age group and doing very well. We spent a long weekend in New York City. We saw the Yankees game, Les Miserable, Natural History Museum, among other things. We are planning a week in Maine in August. I am heading off to merry olde England Saturday (July 15) for a two week concert tour with the Grace Episcopal Church Choir. We will be singing in cathedrals like Canterbury, St. Paul's London, York and Salisbury. We gave our one and only "American performance" in Charleston Sunday afternoon. It was attended by no less personages than Col. and Mrs. Ben Skardon. They are staying at Edisto where Sam and I hope to visit them before I leave. |
