KCRFC 1st XV 34 Springfield RFC 31
A beautiful day for rugby in Kansas City and possibly the last match on Gillham Park for KCRFC brought a tough and well played match by both sides. City opened the scoring with a penalty kick by Fullback Tony Buckley. Springfield came right back and made a penalty of there own. Capitolizing on City mistakes Springfield scored two tries. The City backs finally got it going and Center Brian Cichello scored on some well executed passing. Springfield came right back and scored another try. Halftime Springfield 21-8.
KCRFC came out and scored two quick tries by moving Tony Buckley to flyhalf. The tries by Tony Buckley and Andy Dujakovich were converted by Buckley. Again Springfield would not let go and scored a converted try. Buckley again broke though and scored a try but the conversion failed. Springfield managed to get penalty kick and lead by four points. But as with any classic game City used its heart and winger Chip Becker touched down for the game winning try and Buckley nailed the conversion. Final KCRFC 34-31.

KCRFC 2nd XV 31 Springfield RFC 0
The second side came out and played a mostly beaten up Springfield first side and played very well. Center Mike Cummings dashed through the Springfield defense for 3 tries and brand new player Larry Nickerson scored the first of the game and his career. Flanker Wayne Nicholsen added a try on some excellent support play.
It was an excellent turn out for an experienced second side and shows a lot of promising depth.
