KCRFC vs KC BLUES

      20th March 1999

      A good day for rugby with the sun shining and the temp in the mid 60's,brought the crowds out to watch the rivals play. The game started off with the two teams testing their opponents defense with high kicks and crashing runs. The advantage went to the visitors early on in the game with two quick tries that were not converted.Then the game settled down with counter attacks from both sides until KCRFC scored a penetrating try by a break from Jason Estes.The Blues then just before half time scored to make it 5-15 at the half.

      The second half started as the first ended with a lot of good runs and fast multi phase possession by both teams. Another try by Geoff Belmer and a penalty kick by Tony Buckley brought the home team to 13 but they could not bridge the gap as the visitors scored 4 more tries.
