KCRFC vs Des Moines

      28th August 1999

      After a productive pre-season KCRFC came into the game still unsure of what to expect but in first 10 min City showed the team from Iowa that they had come up to play and play they did. With a fast pace style that hopefully will be their trade mark Kansas City produced some good hard rucking to pressure the home team into two early tries in the first 10 mins and from then on never looked back.

      The second half was much of the same but a lapse in the defence gave Des Moine 2 tries to bring the final score 43-16 to KCRFC.

      With a couple of new players this year the man of the match went to Ben Giefer a graduate of K-State this was Ben's first game of rugby ever and to see him play and perform the way he did was truely amazing, well done Ben.
