I would very much prefer to backpack on my own or with a small group where I can plan for my own schedule. However this may not always be possible due to the constraint of time, money and my heavy loads of backpack and camera equipment. I find the compromise by joining an exotic tour organized by some of the travel agencies which specialize in adventurous tour.

This company organizes standard package tours for those aunties and uncles too. Not all their staffs are knowledgeable to answer or help you out in those adventurous tours. Some of these staffs have actually turned away some potential customers!
But once you get to the right person, you’ll receive excellent service. You can also plan your own itinerary and get them to tailor make for you!
For certain tours, you can even borrow equipment like down jackets and backpacks from them.
Their price is fair and reasonable.

Only specializes in exotic and adventurous tours. They have friendly staffs and provide very good service. They are well known for the excellent slide shows that they market aggressively during March and September.
The price is rather expensive. On average, the price is about 20% higher than that of Universal Travel’s. And if there are too few members for a particular trip, there may be additional surcharges.

Has some really good tours to the exotic India, Nepal, Tibet and Bhutan region. Their prices seem to be a little more expensive than Universal but cheaper than Country Holidays.

This is an air ticketing company that offers really cheap rate! You can
actaully do the booking via the phone and get them to deliver the air tickets to your
office. Great service!
