Just saw Liz tonight; here is the set list from the show:
Explain it to Me
6'1"
Cinco de Mayo
Love is Nothing
Support System
Never Said
Johnny Feelgood
Dance of the Seven Veils (vocals were much stronger than I expected)
Uncle Alvarez
Polyester Bride (rocked much harder live)
Super Nova
Flower (couldn't believe she did this!)
Whatever Makes You Happy
Mesmerizing (incredible!)
Divorce Song (really Great!)
White Chocolate Space Egg
(encore)
Perfect World (Liz&guitar with backgroung vocals- really strong)
Stratford on Guy
Fuck and Run (absolutely great!)
All and all, I must say: this band sounded very tight and rocked much
harder than I expected. Liz's stage presence was *much* improved: Her
between song banter, though occaisionally awkward, had a shy charm to it.
During the songs, however, she was very much into the music: dancing,
shimmying and playfully interacting with the band. I was amazed at just
how good the songs from "Exile" sounded live: they were all sublimely
good.....My only criticism is that she did not introduce the band
members.....
Hope you all can catch one of the shows: it truly was great!

Subject: Boston Show! and a side note...
Date: Wed, 7 Oct 1998 09:31:28 -0400
I must say that the Boston show was also amazing. Played all my
favorites (Divorce Song, Stratford-On-Guy, Support System, and even Dance
of the Seven Veils!), and Liz was, well...HOT! I know it's pretty cliche,
but she was....unnnnngggg...HOT, when she sang "Flower." The slide show
went on for too long (almost 3 cycles).
Liz was so animated and self-assured, and didn't sound nervous at all.
She seemed very "at home" at Avalon, responding to cat calls and telling
the audience that "it means a lot to me that you're here, a lot more than
you know." That was sweet. I loved the amped up version of "Fuck and
Run." A bass line adds a lot to that song. "What Makes You Happy" rocked
out, big time, whith Liz going crazy at the end. All in all it was a
wonderful show. I danced my ass off.
On a side note: Did anyone notice that if you take the WCSE case
apart, underneath the white plastic is a large eye. Creepy. It's been
staring at us the whole time, and we never even knew it.
