"Rainy days and
Mondays"
by, The Carpenters
Do rainy days and Mondays get you down? When chronic illness keeps you at home often. When you're alone and the blues and the gray days accumulate more than not over the months, come to this rainy day page again. You may just have your spirit elevated if you give it a go! Included here are some ways to lift your spirit and bring the sunshine back into your days! Even in Seattle where it rains a lot!
These are some of the things that I do for myself to feel better. They may not be for you, so it is more just an inspiration to incorporate your own creative ways to bring freedom from the rain. :-)
Have some fun!
Vicarious things to enjoy.
First things first: Pray, praise and thank the Creator for all the good things in your life!
Sing a gospel song.
Turn off the telephone, and lock the doors!
Painful muscles? Stretch, breathe, stretch...slow, as far as you can but do it easy!
Watch the video and sing along with one of my favorite musicals:"Singing in the Rain"...with Gene Kelly!<--Midi. ( pssst... If your pain level isn't to high, you can dance along with the musical and don't forget to dress for it!) [Real Audio ~ Musical] Remember to clean off your coffee table [without polish] so you can dance on it! Or just sit and sort-of move with it. Dramatically! :-)
"Whistle While You Work" from Snow White? We have all been children and sometimes it is good for you to just travel back in time and be the kid you once were...well, with some limits of course. LOL It sure gets me in a better mood.., huh? :-)When doing something mundane, whistle! How about
I alternate days of Jazz, Show Tunes and Classical Music...just lay back and enjoy!
Invest in some "Full Spectrum Bulbs"...helps pick up those rainy days! (Plant "grow-bulbs" work just as well, and they cost less).
Don't forget your favorite plates, and stemware. Ah-ah-ah...light a candle! And if you planned well...receive the bouquet of flowers you sent for and put on that video of your dream vacation or travel wishes.Make yourself a snack of some of your favorite things, and don't forget to make it visually appealing, as you would do for others.
