Lost again
This is another one of Rick's midnight gems. He was discussing driving instructions with Linda, a friend of the bands who was going to attempt the drive from San Diego up the Lagomorphs home base in the Bay Area. They were trying to figure out why a highway that supposedly went all the way from San Jose to San Diego wasn't actually in San Diego anywhere. The eventual answer that Rick came up with was that the highway must change names at some point. It was mutually decided that this would be a cool theme for a song.
Being rather late at night when he got off the phone,
Rick neglected to write the song using an electric guitar for fear of bringing the wrath of his parents on his head, so it became one of the few songs that never got changed over to an electric format. Partly due to nostalgia but more to that it just sounds cooler played in straight eigths on an acoustic and shouted.
