eunited the inheritances of St. Leger and
Hoo. He was a person of much importance in the reigns of Edward
III, Richard II and Henry IV. Took a notable part in the 100
years war and in 1387 was Captain of the Castle of Oye/Picardy.
On 12 Mar 1405 he was sent by Henry IV as ambassador to
Margeruite of Flanders, Duchess of Bourgogne, on Dutch affairs
and signed trading treaty with Flanders. The next year he was
made lieutenant of Calais. In 1407 he was called to treaty with
France. His great seal incorporates St Leger and Hoo arms. [THELMA.GED]
