Musical Theatre Homepage
A good reference start. Yeah, when
you get there, you think, "How boring!", but the site contains song lists and
CD covers to many, many shows. So, if you can't remember where "A
Secretary is not a Toy" is from or which act it appears in, this site will
clear you up in a jiffy.
INDIVIDUAL SHOWS
EVITA
En Espanol and English. Madonna photos and general hoopla about the upcoming
movie, as well as a place to post your interpretations of "Peron's Latest
Flame."
Jekyll and
Hyde
The (eventually) coming to Broadway musical that has been touring the
country. Pegged as a "musical thriller", it's about that guy with the really
bad split personality--or is it all just a metaphor for drug use? Robert
Louis was on cocaine when he was writing it. Hmm.....
Elisabeth
A German musical, that has been running some 4 years in Vienna. It's the
story of the murdered Empress of Austria/Hungary who married Franz Josef.
The show has been compared to Evita in its look at a historical
leader. I just think it rocks!
Les Miserables
A Christian ex-con, a frat boy named Grantaire,
and a sexy, misunderstood policeman called <
Javert.
ASSASSINS
Proof of Stephen Sondheim's genius. This page is little more than a
sum-up of the linear notes of the CD, but at least there's an ASSASSINS
page out there!
PLAYS AND PLAYWRIGHTS
Samuel
Beckett
I've only been in one real play in my life, Endgame by Sammy here.
Ever since then, though, I've been religated to stage manager. I don't
know if I'm bitter at Sam or very thankful....
Tom Stoppard
Stoppard. He's the man. We're doing The Real Inspector Hound this
semester at my lovely college. As if we needed proof that Stoppard is just
beyond us all.
William
Shakespeare
I have to have a link to the Dead White Guy. Here he is.
Check out this information on my new favorite Shakespeare play,
Richard the Third
, in performance
August
Strindberg
He hated Ibsen. Ibsen made him bitter. In fact, everything Strindberg
wrote was to combat everything Ibsen wrote. Do you have to love this guy
or what???
Jean Baptiste
Moliere
IN FRENCH! This page is everything you want to know about Moliere, the
great French playwright. Beware if you don't speak French.
David Henry
Hwang
He almost got Miss Saigon banned. And M. Butterfly is a
dang fine play.
Or return to my home page, you wuss!!
THE HUNCHBACK OF NOTRE DAME
With Disney's newest villian--Claude Frollo!

These pages were written and produced by Christine Ehren and are for
personal home use only. Please do NOT attempt to remove them from this box.
Such an action would suggest serious problems with your psyche. Thank you.
