Scotland Road is named for a passageway on the Titanic--the officers called it "Park Lane", the crew called it "Scotland Road".
"The woman" was found on an iceberg in the middle of the Atlantic in 1912 clothing. She is being examined by a doctor (Halbrech), who has been paid by John to keep this woman and discover her secrets.
The woman will not speak. It could be a language barrier; it could be the stubborness. They work at her until the last day. Then sudden progress. The name Astor makes her break into blood-curlding screams. She begins talking.
Another woman, Frances Kittle, the last known survivor of Titanic is brought in to test her. It's best to say no more of this than "The Woman" wins this battle.
After this, everything winds up to a rather incomprehensible ending. It has beautiful images in it, though, and the woman tells a vivid story about herself and John Jacob Astor's manservant.
