Sources Used--For Pictures and Information

Many of these books can be purchased. I strongly suggest:

Titanic: The Complete Book of the Musical
Well, it is what it says it is. A must-have for the Titty musical fan. Applause Books, 1999. $36.50.

Titanic: The Official Story April 14-15,1912
A collection of document facismilies: US Senate hearings, Marconigrams, pictures, explanations, and, of course, the Deck Plans. Random House, 1997. $25.00

Titanic: An Illustrated History
By Don Lynch, with paintings by Ken Marschall. Lots of gorgeous pictures, plenty of information. An easy and enjoyable read. Hyperion/Madison Press Book. $29.95

Titanic Voices: Memories from the Fateful Voyage
By Donald Hyslop, Alastair Forsyth, Sheila Jemima. Wonderful quotes, a vivid picture of what some of the people traveling and working on Titanic were like. Many (and rare) photographs. Many views of the ship. Fascinating. St. Martin's Press. $29.95

Titanic: End of a Dream
By Wyn Craig Wade. This book makes me happy for its telling of the American Senate hearings. Interesting stuff. Reading the officers and crew on the stand is a great window into what these men were like. Some pictures and diagrams. Penguin Books. $13.95

The Story of Titanic as told by its survivors
Edited by Jack Winocour. Accounts from Beesley, Gracie, Lightoller, and Bride. Pretty much a recommendation in and of itself. Gracie's is particularly helpful with his attempts to figure out who was in what lifeboat and who loaded which lifeboat. Dover Publications. $8.95

Also used:

Titanic: Destination Disaster
By John P. Eaton and Charles A. Hass. Some interesting photos, an easy read. I picked mine up at the Strand for $5. Norton and Co. $10.95
