In the name of god amen - I Edmund Boling Snr of County of green and State
of Tennessee being of sound mind & memory Blessed be god & calling to mind
the Certainty of Death and the uncertainty of life and being desirous to
distribute my worley substance amongst my heirs on this 17 day of September
1834, I make this my Last will and testament in manner and form following,
first I resign my body to the dust and my soule to god that gave it me. 2
that my Burial Expenses be paid. thirdly that all my just debts be
punctually paid out of my Estate & fourthly my will is that my wife POLLEY
BOLING have my plantation where on we now live with all my stock and
moveable Estate at her own disposal to raise and school my Children on
untill my sun WILLIAM C. BOLING shall attain to the age of twenty one years
at which time my will is that my Executors to divid the remainder of my
Estate Equally between my six suns to wit JOHN BOLING  JAMES BOLING  JOSHUA
BOLING  EDMUND BOLING  VALENTINE KING BOLING  WILLIAM CANNON BOLING  my
wife to have her Equal share if Living  Revoking all other wills or
instruments of all kinds made by me before this date signd seald & deliverd

WILL OF JOHN BOULAND

In the name of God, Amen.  I John BOULAND of South Carolian and
Resenditor of Laurens District, being weak of body health, and of
perfect mind and memory, thanks be given unto God.  Calling unto mind
the mortality of my  body and knowing that it is appointed for all men
once to die, do make and ordain this my last will and testament, that is
to say.  Principally and first of all I give and recommend my soul into
the hands of almighty God, who gave it and my body, I recommend to the
earth in the manner my executors shall think proper.  Nothing doubting
but at the general resurrection I shall receive the same again by the
mighty power of God.  And as touching such worldly estate wherewith it
hath pleased God to bless me in this life, I give demise and dispose of
the same in the following manner and form.  First, I desire all my
lawfull and just debts to be settled by executors hereafter mentioned.
2nd, I give and bequeath unto my dearly beloved wife Mary, one negro
woman named Pat, one bed and furniture, one horse and saddle and bridle,
two cows and calves, also as much of the corn and wheats as will support
the family this year together with as much fodder and bought food as
will support the stock of very discription and the wheat that will
remain this year, and the flax now on hand.  Also cotton for her use,
all of which I give unto her during her natural life to dispose of as
make use of the same as she may think proper.  I also lend unto my
beloved wife all my plantation and land adjoining the same during her
natural life or widowhood.  And all the stock of every discription
except what hereafter be given away by my will.  All my plantation tools
and all farming utensils of every discription and old waggon and hand
geer and the wood work of one new waggon and iron to finish the same. 
The old waggon to be sold by my executors when the new waggon, if
finished my widow is to receive the proceeds of the old waggon to finish
the new one.  I also lend to my dear and beloved  wife all of my
household and kitchen furniture, except what shall be given away by my
will.  I also lend to my beloved wife four negros to wit: Jeptha,
Jesper, Linkham, Bar, and all of which she is to hold as above mentioned
lent property until my son John comes of age.  Then my executors are to
give John charges of Jespher or Linkham.  Thirdly, my will and desire is
that son Thomas and John shall equally hold all of my land property at
my beloved wife’s death or marriage on condition Thomas gives my son a
warrentee title to a certain tract or parcal of land lying in the State
of Tennessee.  Containing one hundred and fifty acres, more or less
bounded by Tadlock trail flint and others.  William receives this as a
full compasation in the personal dencdent of my estate.  Fourthly, my
will and desire is that my executors, pay to my son James out of my
money at interest at the expiration of four years the sum of four
hundred and fifty five dollars as a full compasation of his present
legacey divided.  And fifthly, my will and desire is that my executors
left a certain note of hand given by son James to the firm of G. L.
Harrington for fifty six dollars.  Also one other note given by the same
to David Bayee for ten dollars.  Seventhly, my will and desire is that
my executors pay unto my daughter Mary Scott the sum of five hundred
dollars, twelve months after date out of my money now at intrust as a
full compasation of her present dividend.  Sixthly, my will and desire
is that my executors pay unto my daughter Sarah in two years from the
present date, also one bed and furniture, one cow and calf, when called
for as a full comparation for her present dividend.  Eightly, my will
and desire that my executor pay unto my daughter Jane five hundred
dollars in three years after the present date, one bed and furniture and
one cow and calf, when called for her present dividend.  Ninthly, my
will and desire is that my executors give unto my daughter Charlot, two
negros to wit; Aderson and Milly children of Pat, when she arises to the
age of eighteen as well as one bed and furniture, and one cow and calf,
which property is to be vested in her own right or the lawful heirs of
her body.  And if Charlet should die without share the property and
increase of the same to be and remain my estate and eequally divided
among her heirs.  Ninthly  my will and desire is that my executors give
unto my son John good English education the expense of which is to be
paid out of the proceeds of the plantation, one horse, saddle and bridle
and wish his mother to give him one cow and calf, one bed and furniture
as a full compensation therewith the before mentioned property for his
present dividend.  Eleventh, my will and desire is that my executors pay
unto the heirs of my daughter Martha Ramage deceased or the repusenties
at the decease or marriage of my dearly beloved wife the sum of five
hundred dollars.  This money first to be taken out of the whole amount
what may then remain the balance, then remaining to be equally divided
among the whole of my heirs.  Eightly, my will and desire is that my
executors do purchase a small peace of land belonging to Tom Charles for
the use of my two sons Thomas and John, the same to be paid for out of
the estate or any money belonging to the same not other wise disposed of
the land, lies on the east side of the branch leading at the Cross
Roads.  If either Thomas or John should die without issue, that
surviving one is to hold all the land and now hold in there own rights. 
I do hereby leave my present crop of cotton and wheat that is to spare
in the hands of my executors to sell to the best advantage in order to
pay just debts.  Debts and other demands and corn if any there be to
spare and if there be any money left it is to be returned to my dearly
beloved wife.  And I do hereby nominate, constitute, and appoint John
Ramage and Robert BOULAND to execute this my last will and testament. 
Willed, and bequeathedm ratified and confirmed this and no other to be
my last will and testament.  In witnes s hereof I have hereunto set my
hand and seal this the Tenth day of January, in the year of our Lord,
One Thousand Eight Hundred and twenty.  Signed, sealed, published,
pronounced, and declared by the said John BOULAND as his last will and
testament.  Signed in the presence of us, who in his presence and in the
presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names test.

CODICAL

A codical to the will already made there was three items neglected.  The
first is Robert BOULAND has received his part of the first division of
my estate.  And I also wish him to have equal with the others at the
decease of my wife in the second division .  I desire my executors to
purchase my two daugher (VIZ) Sarah and Jane BOULAND with one side
saddle a peace to be purchased out of my estate.  Thirdly, I desire the
meat which is now killed and is now in the pens to be killed to remain
for the use of my wife and the rest of the family.  Test

in the name of God amen I MARTHA BOLEN of the District aforesaid being of
Perfect mind and memory - calling unto mind the mortallaty of my body and
knowing it is appointed for all men onst to die. and being desirious of
disposing of all such worldly estate as it hath pleased God to bless me
with - do make and ordain this my last will and testament.
   Item first - I give and bequeth to my two sons - WILLIAM H. BOLEN and
ALBERT D. BOLEN the hole of my real estate to be equally divided between
them - if either of them should die and the other live - I will that the
surviving Brother shall       ?    the deceased brothers Part - unless
death shall not take place until they have legal heirs of their own.  In
that case I wish it to go to their Legal heirs - allso my will is that my
two sons before mentioned shall have each a horse and Bridle and Saddle -
out of my Personal estate in liew of all other claims therein.  My will is
that my single daughters, that is ELIZABETH - PATSY - and MATILDA shall
remain together with their brothers as long as they live single - and
during that term, for them to have an interest in common, with their
brothers, in the real estate so far as it regards a home and the Produce of
the soil for their support - but as they marry this interest abates to them
that do marry.  After my Death and buryal expenses are paid out of my
Chattle estate - I will that the remainder continue undivided - and
continue on the premises - for the joint use of all my children which are
single - untill my daughters marry - and as they marry I wish them to
receive an amount out of my Chattle estate as before described.  I desire
that the residue be divided equally between all my daughters - that is to
say NANCY?  POLLY - ELIZABETH - PATSY- and MATILDA - and lastly I do hereby
appoint my son William H. Bolen and my Brother WILLIAM GREEN executors of
this my last will and testament - and I do hereby uterly disalow - revoke
and disanul - all and every other testaments - will - Legacies - bequests
and executors - by me in any will before made willed and bequethed -
ratifying and confirming this and no other to be my last will and testament
- in witness - in witness where of I have hear unto set my hand and seal -
on this the 25th day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight
hundred and thirty four----

February 1805 in Laurens District, South Carolina... member of Presbyterian
Church and later M. E. {Methodist Episcopal?) Church.





Will of Samuel Bolling May 9, 1808

In the name of God, Amen.  I Samuel Bolling of the State of South
Carolina, Laurance District, living on Readi River, planter being in
health of body and of sound mind memory and understanding, priased by
God for the same.  Ido make this my last will and testament in manner
and form following.  I give  devise and bequeath unto my beloved wife
Abi Bolling the house and plantation where I now live, during her
widowhood or natural life.  And then at her death the land is to be
divided equally between my two youngest sons Samuel Bolling and
Thornberry Bolling, also a good horse, bridle, and saddle, and feather
bed and furniture, cow and calf each.  And also my two youngest
daughters Lucinda Bolling and Polly Bolling a good horse, bridle, and
saddle, and feather bed and furniture, cow and calf each.  And to my son
John Bolling feather bed and furniture, cow and calf.  And after my
lawful debts is paid the remainder of my estate to remain  in my wife
Abi Bolling hands till death.  And then to be divided eequally between
all my children Viz., Robert Bolling, Nancy Sullivant, and Elizabeth
Dunklin, and Tully Bolling, and John Bolling, Lucinda Bolling, and
Samuel Bolling, Polly Bolling, and Thornberry Bolling.  I hereby appoint
and ordain nominate, appoint and constitute my beloved wife Abi Bolling
executrix and my son Robert Bolling and Tully Bolling and John Bolling
and Samuel Bolling Executors of this my last will and testament.  Hereby
revoking and making void all wills heretofore made by me and declaring
that a majority of the above named persons or the survivors  of them
shall absolutely and finally determind and decide all disputes or
contentions of whatever nature arising in the Excecution of this my
will.  In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this 9th
day of May, 1808.  Signed, sealed, declared, and published by the above
named Samuel Bolling as and for his last will and testament.  In the
presence of us who at his request and in his presence have subscribed
our names as witnesses thereto.

Will of Thornberry Bolling

In the name of God, Amen.   I Thornberry Bolling of the State of S.C.
and Laurens District, being in a low state of health but of sound and
disposing mind memory and understanding, do make and declare this to be
my last will and testament in manner and form following, that is to
say.  After my lawful debts is paid my will and desire is that all the
balance of my estate both real and personal be and remain in the hands
of my mother Abigail Bolling during her lifetime, and at her death, to
be distributed as follows.  That is to Thornberry Bolling (son of Samuel
Bollng) my share and interest in the Fork School Library Society and one
hundred dollars in cash to Samuel Perrett (son of Alfor Perrett) one
hundred dollars in cash.  To Samuel Bolling son of John Bolling my share
and interest in the land same John Bolling lives on, laying in the State
of Alabama.  To my four brothers Robert Bolling, Tully Bolling, John
Bolling, Samuel Bolling one dollar each.  To my three sisters Nancy 
Strange, Lucenda Johnson and Polly Perrett one dollar each.  The heirs
of my sister Elizabeth Dunklin one dollar divided amongst them and all
the balance of my estate both real and personal.  I give and bequeath to
Henderson Sullivan and Joseph Johnson to be equally divided between them
by my executors here after named.  Lastly, I nominate and appoint Tully
Bolling, Henderson Sullivan and Joseph N. Johnson executors of this my
last will and testament by them to be preformed.  In witness ofI have
hereunto signed my name and fixed my seal this 13th day of June, 1822.
