Sports...

I love sports, many different sports. My own activities these days have been reduced to shooting (NO, I do NOT kill innocent little creatures, the only things I kill are cardboard targets, and unfortunately I don't even seem to find the time for that any more...), and to tutoring a course in Sport Psychology.

My favourite sports in no particular order, include

Cricket: An acquired taste which many of my American and continental European friends cannot understand at all, but another firm favourite of mine - I could watch it continuously... Test Matches, One-Day Internationals, even the new 8-man format. I must admit, though, that I have never quite warmed up to the Shield matches.
Some years ago, I applied to join the South Australian Cricket Association (home of what is said to be one of the most picturesque, if not THE most beautiful cricket grounds in the world) and, at the time, I was told that I would have to wait about 8 years until I reach the top of the waiting list. Being a patient person, I thought it well worth the wait. Now, some 4 or 5 years later, I am told that it will probably be another 13 years or so... Now I don't know about you, but somehow the maths involved is a little beyond me...
