In 1997 the band died because Blackie decided to be more nasty than Marylin Manson. It was a mistake. W.A.S.P l st the respect of many fans. The "Helldorado" with its real stupid lyrics & self-plagiarist primitive music didn't save the situation. The glorious history & career was flushed. I'm very ashamed of them. I'm very sorry for them. Hello! I started listening to WASP in 1987, when it was very hard to find some good music in Poland. There was only one shop (with pirated cassettes) in Warsaw, which was the only (except some radio programs) source of music for me and my colleagues. The Last COmmand was the first album I heard and it was my favourite album for a long, long time. Now I can say that WASP is the band I like the most (hmmm... maybe except my own ;) I think that I like Them because my mind, heart and everything else was evaluating in the same pace as Their music; and every next album was either the cure or at least the consolation (?) for me. Now I have everything on CDs, but I always will keep my fi st WASP pirate cassette. I'm dying for the next- after Helldorado - album. I was also at that show, and I was so concerned about why we (the fans) were left stnading in the rain for two fucking hours waiting for NOTHING! We weren't told that the band was going to split... we were led on. We were told the wait would br 15 to 20 minutes for them to come out to meet and greet. A couple days later I called into a radio station (Cleveland, OH) where Blackie was accepting questions, and was put on hold for 20 minutes... only to be HUNG UP ON!!!! I called back and Blackie said he ha NO FUCKING comment on what happened at the show in Springfield. I told the guy at the radio station that BLackie should kiss the fans ass, because if it wasn't for us, he would be nothing. Then I got an email from the radio station apologizing, and he alked a little bit about what happened with Mr. God Lawless, and Blackie says, "I don't see why buying a ticket make you eligible for an autograph..." All I have to say is, FUCK YOU W.A.S.P. you don't respect me, I don't support you. I should have liste ed to ALL the roumors about Blackie being an asshole, I never thought he was a pompous asshole who doesn't give a shit about anyone but himself.

Talking about real rock; check out the forthcoming new album by norwegian black metallers Darkthrone. It`s called Ravishing grimness, and it`s got some of the coolest riffs ever to be heard. I agree that the new Testament album kicks ass, but I`m sorry that someone feels that Helldorado belongs in the trash can. Personally I think it`s one of their best recordings to date. Fourteen years later. And digging through the past...I was very shocked to come across sites for the band WASP. In '84-'85 I was heavily into the band WASP and "Doom Daddy" Lawless. And was able to spend time with Blackie. And to this day I'll say "It was an experience I will never forget". Even though I wasn't able to take off to the next show in Albuquerque with him and that fateful day when I missed his phone call.
