Many visitors asked me why
I don't mention the places where I've taken my pictures: I think
that the best present that Crete can offer you is the
pleasure of re-descovering the nicest places yourself.
For my taste many of the places beautifull places are beautiful because they are not (yet) crowded.
I don't think it would be a good idea to give everyone a too detailed description.
And it's not necessary anyway: You find 'your' places in any part of the island. If you take the time to see a small part of crete in detail, instead of trying to see everything (which is impossible) by driving around like mad
And what is enjoyable for me need not be good for everyone: Some people (like myself) prefer
loneliness while others want to meet a lot of people, need some touristic infrastructure, possibilities for watersport or nightlife.
For some people a bad road or a beach without shade, taverns and sunbeds is a problem.
Others (like myself) are glad about any place without such 'modern enhancements' (I definitely prefer donkeypaths to highways).
Well, Crete offers a bit of both extremes, as well as a lot inbetween...
