*LOS ANGELES* - "Swans Crossing," the first nationally-syndicated
daily live-action serial developed for pre-teens/teens, has cleared over
91% of the U.S. syndicated television market. This half-hour action-
adventure-romance series airs weekdays on 145 stations nationwide, including
WPIX in New York (at 5:00 p.m.) and KCAL in Los Angeles (also at 5 p.m.).
"Swans Crossing" is the story of a group of middle schoolers who
live in an Eastern Seaboard village, home to some of America's richest and
most privileged families. But life in Swans Crossing continually proves that
the more money one has -- the bigger the problems and the more dramatic the
solutions.
"'Swans Crossing' is going to be a fun and exciting series for pre-
teens/teens to watch and enjoy," said Ned Kandel, one of the two executive
producers. "We will explore the stormy relationships and exciting adventures
of twelve kids who are rich enough to live out their fantasies and
interesting enough to keep multiple intrigues and stories going."
Another unique aspect about "Swans Crossing" is that its continual
story will feature a cliffhanger in random episodes, rather than on Friday.
But, like most other serials, "Swans Crossing" will follow a daily shooting
schedule.
"The cast we've selected for this program is outstanding," said
Kandel. "These actors are some of the most talented young people I've been
around. Not only are they tremendous actors but they possess other talents
as well. They can sing, dance and play musical instruments, some ride horses
and several of them are exceptional athletes. They're a very professional
group and are all good students."
"'Swans Crossing' is a fresh and exuberant series which celebrates
adolescence," said Mardee Kravit, executive producer. "We've written the
show in a different voice and with a very different twist than other pre-
teen/teen programs. Instead of focusing on the trials and tribulations of
adolescence, we've focused on the best aspects of this time of life that
each and everyone of us clearly remembers. And, since Ned and I are the
oldest adolescents in America this is a chance for Ned to right the wrongs
of his teen years and for me to relive my triumphs."
"Swans Crossing" is distributed and licensed through Sachs Film
Distribution, Inc. in Los Angeles. Executive producers are Kandel and Kravit
for New York-based Heliosphere Productions.
Kandel produced the critically-acclaimed "Encyclopedia Brown" series
and the award-winning "Kids on Kids" for Home Box Office. Current projects
include "Criss Cross," a teen comedy series for Showtime, and "Are You
Afraid of the Dark?" an anthology of spooky stories for Nickelodeon.
Kravit won several writing awards for her work on the Emmy award-
winning ABC serial "Ryan's Hope," and has served as a creative consultant to
network daytime television. She also wrote the ABC Afterschool Special,
"Class Act," and has written other programs for television and film.
Based in Los Angeles, Sachs Film Distribution, Inc. is a leading
nationwide syndicator of such programs as the "Teenage Mutant Ninja
Turtles," "Ultra Man" and "Toxic Crusaders."

                                 *SYNOPSIS*
        _____________________________________________________________

Welcome to the town of Swans Crossing, an Eastern Seaboard village
that's a haven for the wealthy and a hot spot for their young heirs.
The teenage turmoil revolves around the town's elite families, from
the old-moneyed Rutledges and Booths; to the Atwaters, an African-American
family, owners of a multinational company; and the Claytons, whose family
fortune has suspicious origins.
As with most kids, what these young teens do is enough to send their
parents screaming. Who can predict what the feuding Booths and Rutledges
will do if they discover their children are crazy about each other? Then
there's Jimmy Clayton and Neil Atwater, two mavericks who are too willful to
be contained.
Into this spicy mix arrives Countess Rosnovsky, an eccentric blue-
blood descendent of one of the town's founding fathers, and her daughter,
along with Captain Walker and his daughter.
In and around these families are other sons and daughters, more
mysteries and mayhem and endless opportunities for revenge and revelation.
In the town of Swans Crossing, there's always something ready to explode.
