8. Plans for a Weekend
[This scene happens after Matt has been electrocuted and is still in the hospital. Mike thinks that they should get away for a while to relax. Matt has taken over reading to the children in pediatrics and is returning to his room with Ellen.]
"When I was finally done organizing that wheelchair race around the nurses station, it was amazing that the security guards didn't escort me off the floor. By the way I won," Matt tells Ellen with pride.
"Well, you should be proud of yourself, beating a group of sick children," Ellen answers.
Matt laughs, "Don't waste your pity on them. They had to disqualify Neil, the little devil threw a milk carton under my wheel, jammed me all up."
"Well I'm glad to hear it, it's about time somebody gets the better of you." Ellen says with a smile.
"Well, what do you want to get from me?" Matt asks sensually.
"Well, I thought you'd never ask." Ellen said as she gets down on her knees and kisses him passionately.
"You know this break is exactly what we need," Matt says. "All we have to do is watch out for poison ivy and curious raccoons. Oh, and by the way there are no phones up there. So if we leave our cellular phones, our laptop computers, and our pagers at home there will be no civilization for miles and miles."
"No cell phone?" Ellen looks at him in disbelief.
"No," Matt answers.
"Have you lost your mind?" Ellen asks him.
"No," Matt replies.
"What if we need pizza delivery?" Ellen asks.
"Boy, somebody's in for a culture shock," Matt says teasingly.
"All right I can live without delivery, but you will have to pry my cell phone from my cold dead hands," Ellen says with a smile. "Oh if you don't mind, I want to tell Kevin . . . he may need someone."
"Yea, by all means," Matt replies.
"OK. I'll try reaching him now," Ellen says, as she gives him a kiss.
[Ellen carries on a short conversation with Kevin over the telephone.]
She hangs up and turns to Matt with a smile, "He told us to have a good time."
"Doctor's orders, gotta oblige. What say we blow this taco stand," Matt says with a grin.
"Well after you sign these release forms. It's not that I'm at all eager, but I did fill them out," Ellen tells Matt as she looks at the forms.
"Hand em over," Matt says as he takes them from her. (Submitted by AProffit/LuvMitch)
