Well, race fans, we have decided to turn our Sound Off! page over to you. This will be your forum and we encourage you to submit your opinions to us. Don't be bashful.

Hi Mike -

I'd like to give you some info that you might not have known. Forget those billions of TV $ doing anything for the fans!!! I believe most of it will stay in the France family.

I think it was the week before Christmas that I got my 2000 Daytona tickets. I had paid for them in March of 99. They cost me $427 - ($70 each for Busch, and $140 each for Cup + $7 handling). YESTERDAY, 5 weeks before those races, I got my 2001 Invoice, which has to be paid before 4/1/2000. If you can believe it - THE PRICE WENT UP!! $75 for Busch, $145 for Cup, and $9 for handling!!!! Can you believe the nerve of these people???? And these seats are coming out of turn 2 on the backstretch (Superstretch, I believe they call it). As far as I am concerned, they can stick them up the tunnel (and I don't mean the one to the infield)!!!!

I am hoping to go this year, although I sold my tickets to a son, who is giving them to a good customer. I will buy a ticket out front, and hopefully get a better seat. I just can't believe those greedy bastards would do this, when they are getting all that TV money in 2001!!!!

These prices won't affect most fans, because they can't afford to go to most races anyway, and really don't have any idea of what it costs, because they watch it on TV. But it affects me, being retired, and sure has done a lot to change my outlook!!!!

This may make a good letter for you, if you want to edit a little of my venting, for your site. Larry

Editor's Note: We didn't edit this letter very much. We happen to agree with Mr. Haseley. But in our never-ending quest to be politically correct, we don't use the word 'asshole' any more. We use the phrase 'sweet, sweet thing'. Race Views is a family page, and we don't want to corrupt any of the young, impressionable Ford fans. Trust me.
