Well, race fans, we have decided to turn our Sound Off! page over to you. This will be your forum and we encourage you to submit your opinions to us. Don't be bashful.

We are happy to hear again from our newest correspondents, Lolita & Louella - they contributed a fine piece on the 1999 Awards Dinner.

B.S. by any other name would still stink!!

Hi again race fans. Most of you don't know that Louella and I are major stockholders in B.S. stock. That translates into Speedway Motorsports owned by Bruton Smith (B.S.) Louella has three shares and I have two. We made a ton of money, but as of late our B.S. stock seems to have gone in the dumpster.

So instead of going to Daytona this year as we had planned , (Big Bill France seems to have a handle on his tracks) we have decided to check out our investment in Las Vegas.

Now we all know the B.S., which B.S. has done with the Texas track. Louella and I have written letter after letter, telling B.S. the fans need more bathrooms, more roads and car control, in and out of the track. To no avail.

What do we see on TV when the cars go flying by?? Shrubbery!!! We think B.S. is trying to emulate Roger Penske (he planted all those palm trees around the California Speedway). Get a clue B.S. What do you have to do with shrubbery? Water it! As if we need more water at the track. The cars are floating as it is. We can only imagine the travesties at Las Vegas we will find to report.

However, don't look for us in the stands. We have e-mailed B.S. with our arrival plans. No doubt B.S. will have us seated in the owners suite, complete with Cheez Whiz and crackers.

L & L

Editor's note: We think Lolita and Louella did another fine job. We did not know they were major stockholders in SMI. Small wonder they have such keen insight.
