Korean Sesame Shrimp
- Okay, I can't let you live your lives any
longer without this recipe. We use it with shrimp, but it probably would
work fine with beef, pork, poultry, or fish. It only takes 10 minutes
to prepare and if I don't make it often enough, my kids want to know what
the heck is going on.
- They can't remember to do their homework,
but they remember to ask for this recipe. Go figure...

- 1 1/2 C Soy sauce
- 1/4 C Packed brown sugar
- 2 T Dark Asian sesame oil
- 1 T Maple syrup
- 1 T Granulated sugar
- 5 Cloves garlic, finely chopped
- 3 T Sliced green onion
- 2 t Grated fresh ginger (OR 1/2 t ground
ginger)
- 1/2 t Cracked black pepper
- Combine all ingredients in a small bowl until
well blended.
- Refrigerate 1 pound of shelled shrimp in
the marinade for at least one hour.
- Grill, turning once and basting the shrimp
at the 5-minute point, continuing to grill until the shrimp is tender.
- Serve the remaining marinade at the table
after boiling the marinade in a saucepan for 1 minute.
