This December, Susan Good represented Allied Citizens for
Healthcare Equity at an international healthcare conference in
Hong Kong. The conference was organized by the Management Society
for Healthcare Professionals and was attended by representatives
from healthcare organizations in the U.S., Sweden, England, Taiwan,
and Japan, and also international organizations such as the World
Bank and the World Health Organization.
The topic of the conference was "Healthcare in the Millennium,
Everybody's Responsibility". Participants discussed issues
such as medical advancements, information technology, alternative
medicine, increasing costs of medical care, and the elderly and
the impact that these issues will have on healthcare services.
Good presented her views on healthcare reform from the perspective
of the consumer. ACHE has been invited to a similar conference
in Bangkok this spring.
