The change from low to high headlights in late 1950 (5.9.1950) was due to new Californian legislation. It was the most distinctive styling `update' made to the Morris Minor over its lifetime, and this forced modification did not please Alex Issigonis at all. The prototype pictured above shows the dramatic alteration to the frontal lines of the car.
