THE TEAM OF 1957

The 50's were one of the greatest, if not the greatest time
River Plate has ever had. This team is one of the most
remembered of all times, with the aid of the "machine" they
won 5 tournaments in 6 years, between the years 1952 to 57.

To be remembered...

During the 50's the maximun scorer ever of the history of
the club appeared. The picture only shows a small boy who
was about to start his career as a football player on that
day. Inside the stadiums he was unstoppable, a real pain
in the neck to any defense he was facing. His name is Angel
Amadeo Labruna, and with the millonaire's uniform he got
tired of scoring goals. He scored a total of 292 goals.
Angel Amadeo Labruna and Enrique Omar Sívori enter the
stadium. They were two symbols of River, and they also
were responsible for all the victories the millonaire
achieved during his golden decade.
Once again Enrique Omar Sívori, but this time along
with José Manuel Moreno, the big man, the leader of
the amazing team of the 50's.
As shown in the picture: Juan Carlos Muñoz, José
Manuel Moreno, Adolfo Pedernera, Angel Amadeo
Labruna and Enrique Omar Sívori. All of them along
with Félix Loustau were the wonderful "Machine" of
the 50's. They were the most feared scorers of the
history of the Argentinian football. All of them
together scored more than 600 goals using the
millonaire's uniform!
