With the aid of Angel Amadeo Labruna, this
time as the team's
coach, the team of 1975 put an end to 18 years
whithout winning
a local tournament. They won the Metropolitan
Tournament and
the National Tournament that same year, and
they continued
to win more in 1977, 1979, 1980, 1981...

Angel Amadeo Labruna now as the new coach
of River
Plate in 1975, started the career of another
"angel"
of the millionaire's history. Ramón
Angel Díaz, began
his career as one of the most dangerous scorers,
who
later became a member of the Argentinian national
team.
The "Beto" was undoubtely the player who represented
every aspect of the River of the end of the
70's and
beginning of the 80's. He was a great leader,
the skills
of his feet gave River many tournaments, which
started
the second period of glory of the Champion
of the Century.
The "Great Captain", later he would be the
"Kaiser",
during this period of time appeared one of
the greatest
and most remembered defenders River Plate
has ever had.
Daniel Alberto Passarella has a remarkable
personality,
and also he posseses a record as the defender
who
scored more goals in the history of River
Plate.
The very moment of absolute glory for Angel
Amadeo Labruna
and the team of 1975 he led. On that day a
fateful mark of
18 years without winning a local tournament
ended for River,
and everybody had to stop calling them the
"eternal second".
