José Manuel Moreno started his career as a football
player at the club La Estrella, in Brandsen, he came
to River in 1933 recommended by Bernabé Ferreyra (who
was at that moment one of the greatest players). He
made his debut wearing River Plate's colours in 1935
against the Brazilian team Vasco Da Gamma, in a
friendly match. Moreno was the young genious of the
millionaire's attack, using his skills and his talent
he played, made his teammates play along with him,
and he scored a lot of goals, altogether he scored
179 goals (most of them with his head), which made
him the fourth maximun scorer in River Plate's
history. In 1943 he went to México to play in the
España club, he came back to River in 1949 and
remained up to the year 1951, when he was transferred
to the Chilean team Universidad Católica de Chile,
and later on to the Uruguayan team Defensor. He came
back to Argentina in 1952 but this time, he went to
Boca Juniors (the only black spot in his remarkable
career), then he went through Ferro Carril Oeste
(in 1953), Independiente de Medellín (from 1954 to
1957), and back to Ferro Carril Oeste, where he
finished his career as a football player. He was
a player in the Argentinian national team in several
ocassions, and he also managed it in 1959. Besides
that, he managed River Plate, Boca Juniors, Huracán,
Olimpia de Paraguay and Independiente de Medellín.

Alfredo Di Stéfano, was known as the "Blond Arrow",
he started at the lower divisions of River Plate and
made his debut in the main team in 1947. That same
year he became the maximun scorer of the tournament
with a total of 27 goals. He only remained in the
club for 3 years until he was transferred to the
Colombian team Millonarios de Bogotá in 1949, before
making a brief stop in Huracán. From there on he
went to Spain, to the Real Madrid where he won the
Spanish league in several opportunities and also
became European champion. He was part of the
Argentinian national team and the Spanish national
team as well. He is the only Coach in the history
of Argentinian football to become champion with
River Plate and Boca Juniors. He also was the
coach of many Spanish Teams.
