I'm owner of a 1968 coupe since august 2003, I bought this car from a fisherman in a small town (he carries fish on it!!) , it was down a tree with mud almost covering half of the tires, and with plenty of rust (still has), this car probably came down here with the military forces that were in the canal zone until 1999, this car is a coupe standard, with a 200 ci and 3 speed manual, bucket seats, color sunlit gold metallic, it is a Metuchen car distributed in Jacksonville Fla. I have already done the floors, rear fenders, ignition system and brakes (drum), still saving enough for the rest of the restauration. Well this is my car and with still a lot of work ahead, but proud of it.

I purchased my '68 Seafoam Green hardtop in 1992 intending to carry out a rolling restoration. It turned out to be so bad that the car was completely dissassembled and restored by me over a period of some 10 years, finally hitting the road April 2003. Apart from the machining work on the engine , installation of torque boxes , rear chassis rails, and rebuilding the C4, I carried out all the remaining work in my 2 car garage. The main tasks involved the fitting of new floors, firewall repair, inner fenders, trunk floor, tail light panel inner and outer wheelhouses, rear quarter panel repair , cowl panel removal and repair, door skins , complete reupholster including headliner, complete respray in the original colour ( the car had been at least four different colours since it was built). When removed the engine I discovered it was an old 260 so I replaced this with a 289 which was rebuilt 40 thou over with flat top pistons, ported heads, Edelbrock performer intake, cam and carb.plus long tube headers. So far I have done just over 1000 miles with no major problems.

After tracking a number of Mustangs on Ebay, this Raven Black 68 Coupe came back on the market and I bought it privately in October 2004. An ex California, Los Angeles car it was imported into the UK in 1991 and is still in mint condition requiring no work at all. Originally a 200ci 3 speed manual, its now got a detailed 302 V8 and C4 auto, all completely rebuilt some 800 miles ago, flowmaster dual stainless exhaust and all new suspension springs and mounts all round including gas adjustable shocks and has a front disc brake conversion. No squeaks or rattles, she drives like a new car and sounds great. Wheels are Weld Racing Prostar fitted with thin band white walls which together with the new chrome really look good against the black paint. Standard saddle colour interior and a Grant soft rim steering wheel are fitted. She gets a lot of attention wherever we go and we are just having some fun together!
