Earl Granville, fole Lord or Pro-

Prietor of a certain Diftrict, Territory, or Parcel

Of Land, lying in the faid Province.

To William (ink blur)wood His Lordfhip’s

Surveylor for the County of Edgcombe Greeting:

You are forthwith to admeafure and lay out to James

Regiftered in Singleton a Tract of vacant Land, containing

Lib. A Seven hundred

Acres, lying in Edgcombe County, within the

Fol. 36 faid Diftrict. Beginning on Thomas Wells Line Thence

to his own Line for Complement.

Observing my Inftructions to you for running out Lands: Three

juft and fair Plans whereof, certified under your Hand, with the Day

of your making the fame, you are to return to the Perfon mentioned

in my faid Inftructions for receiving the fame, within Six Months from

the Date of this Warrant: in Order that the faid James

Singleton may, within Twelve Months enfusing the

Day of fuch your Survey, fo to be returned as aforefaid, take out a

Grant of the Lands therein contained, for completing his Title:

Otherwise this Warrant to be void and of no Force; and the

Faid Lands to be deemed free, and at Liberty to be taken up by any

Other Perfon that fhall apply to me for that Purpofe. Dated the

31 Day of December 1761

Regiftered in Seven Hundred

Lib. Acres of Vacant Land, lying in Edgecomb County

Fol. Beginning on Thomas Wills Line. Then

to his Own line for compliment.

And defires a Warrant to have the fame furveyed;

WHICH is granted, Upon Condition that fuch

Survey be returned into the faid Office, within Six

Month from the Date hereof, and that the faid

James Singleton do within Twelve

Months next enfuing theDay of making fuch Return,

take out a Grant of the faid Land; otherwise

this Entry, and fuch Survey fo to be made thereon,

fhall be void and of no Effect. Dated the

31st Day of December 1761

You are forthwith to admeafure and lay out, unto

James Singleton a Tract of Land, containing

Six hundred & forty Acres, lying in Edgcomb

County, within the faid Diftrict; Beg’s on William Brantlys

Uper line & up both Sides of Gofes Swamp for Complement

Obtaining my Inftructions for running out of Lands; Three

juft and fair Plans whereof, cerritied under your Hand, you

are to return to me, within Six Months from the Date hereof:

Which Survey of the above mentioned Lands, fo to be re-

turned as aforefaid, fhall be good and valid for the faid

James Singleton provided he the faid

James Shingleton do, within

Twelve Months after fuch Return, take out a Grant of the

fame Land, to compleat his Title: Otherwife this Warrant,

      and fuch your Return thereof, fhall be void, and of no Force,

and the faid Lands be deemed vacant, and free to be taken

up by any other Perfon, that fhall apply for that Purpofe.

Signed the Ninth Day of November 1756.
