Know all men by these presents that

I Joseph Singleton of the County of

Beaufort & State of North Carolina

in Consideration of the natural Love

and affection which I have & bear

unto my beloved friend Robert McCabe

and also for d(?) other good Causes &

Consideration (?) the said Joseph Singleton

hereunto moving have given granted and

confirm’d and by these present do

give grantand Confirm unto the said

Robert McCabe a Certain tract or parcel

of Land in South Carolina Containing

one thousand acres Bounded as follows:

On Crooked Creek on the Water Catawba

river bounded N.W. by John GrayS

Land N.E. by Edward Lownds &

Joseph Singleton, S.W. by Joseph Singleton

all together with all my goods & chattels

now in Washington or in whose hand

or custody or pofefion sown (?) they be

together with all my (?) Bonds Book

debts or demands. To have and to hold

and pofef all and singular the said

Lands, goods & chattels unto the said

Robert McCabe his heirs executors and afigns

forever. And I the said Joseph Singleton

all the afos ‘d land goods & chattels and all

heretofore maintained to the said Robert

McCabe his heirs and executors forever

and I the said Joseph singleton doth

bind myself my heirs executors, or afigns

and all and every other person & persons

whatsoever shall & will warrant & forever

defend by these present of all & singular

which Lands goods & chattels & personal

estate & other possifses. I the said Joseph

Singleton have put the said Robert

McCabe in full pofefion by delivering

my shop in pofefion at the time of the

Sealing & delivery of these presents in the

name of the whole Lands & premises

good & chattels hereby granted In

Witness whereof I have hereunto set

My hand and seal this 20th day of
