CBC Show - Paul McFadden

The Travelling Project - "An Outsiders (Artist) view of New Brunswick Life"
was supported by the New Brunswick Arts Board

Last year I traveled New Brunswick in my mobile studio/art gallery (camper van). I worked within the three communities: Francophone, Anglophone and the First Nations people, relating my art work to the way of life within each community. This project was supported by a $20 000 arts builders pilot project grant from the New Brunswick Arts Board.

I called this traveling project: "An Outsiders (Artist) view of New Brunswick Life", in French "La Vision de la vie au Nouveau-Brunswickpar un artiste hors-théorie", and in Mi kmaq: "Tan telaptk eltoq kowey wen tleait mi kmaq wey kati". Each translation is a little different but is very close in expressing what the show is about.

Places visited included: Red Bank (Metepenagiag Mi kmaq), Burnt Church (Esgehoòpetitj), Big Cove (Elsipogtog), Bouctouche (Tjipogtojg), Cape Jourimain, Sackville, Dieppe, Pointe du Chêne, Shediac, Shediac Bridge, Grand Digue, Gagetown, Knowlesville and Robichaud Office.

An Outsiders (artist) View of New Brunswick Life opened for the month of October 2003 at the Georges Goguen Gallery, Moncton, NB and now we are happy to present it to you online.

I would like to thank the New Brunswick Arts Board for their support, also Michael Dunn for putting this show together and a special thank you to Frank Augustine, a warrior & friend from the Burnt Church First Nation. Thank you to everyone who helped along the way.
