Like folk art itself, it reflects the local culture. Navigation - straight-forward and consistent, maximum intuitiveness, minimum stand-alone links. Speed - few frills, bandwidth devoted to art work images. Images compressed according to quality required. Images - viewable at any display parameters, however aspect ratio will be most faithful at 1024 x 768 pixels. 800 x 600 also quite good. 640 x 480 will work, but quality/layout may be compromised. Browser neutral - to serve the greatest Web population, this site is as browser-neutral as possible, and should be viewable in Netscape 4.x+ and MSIE 4x+.
