* Met with SS-Gruppenführer Reinhard Heydrich on 19. Sep. 1939, agreeing with him on the necessity of a "cleanup once and for all" of "Jews, intelligentsia, clergy, [and] nobility" in Poland. Later, in May 1941, negotiated with Heydrich and formally agreed upon a plan for Wehrmacht cooperation with and support of the Einsatzgruppen in the rear area of the German Army.
* Heavily involved in the conspiracy to overthrow Hitler; committed suicide to avoid arrest and trial.
