*Oberst Huebner presented to General Schmundt a draft of the Training Programme for his Soldiers. Schmundt requested a memorandum by the Oberst about the Education of the German Officer Corps which he executed with eagerness and energy based on literature of the Allegmeine SS. The memo, with the title 'For What Are We Fighting' was delivered to Schmund. Huebner wanted the 'political soldier' to be led by National Socialist Trained Officers. Huebner's memorandum in the shape of 300,000 copies was sent by OKW to the Officer Corps. It was utilised as a basis for 'wehrgeistig' or 'Political Defence' Training. (00 May 1943)

*During a visit to the Front, Hitler visited Huebner's HQ. Huebner reported to Hitler, with pride, the Training Courses which he instituted in order to influence, to the last Grenadier, a National Socialist mold. (03 Mar 1945)

*On 07 Mar 1945 the Ludendorff Bridge at Remagen fell intact into the hands of the Americans (Leutenant Timmermann, spearhead of the US 7th Armoured Division). Hitler instituted the 'Flying Special-Court-Martial West' under Generalleutnant Huebner for this purpose. On 11 Mar 1945 Huebner arrived at Rimbach/Sieg, the HQ of Army-Group B and sentenced Majors Scheller, Kraft and Schobel to death. The sentence was executed by firing squad. The superiors Model and Hitzfeld to nothing to prevent the executions. In a post-war trial in Koblenz, Huebner is sentenced to 4 years. The death sentences are reviewed in 1966 at the State-Court in Landshut all three majors were subsequently posthumously acquitted.
