History: Also known as the Bounty Hunter, this man is suspected of a number of contract killings throughout the U.S. including the murders of a group of identical doctors, Agt. Barry Weiss, and Jeremiah Smith. According to a woman who presented herself as Agt. Mulder's sister Samantha, beginning in the late 1940s a colony of alien visitors had been establishing themselves throughout the U.S. These colonizers believed they would be heirs to the stewardship of Earth.

As clones, there had been the necessity, due to their identical nature, to be geographically dispersed to avoid recognition. Experiments in human-alien hybridization were launched to eliminate this problem. The experiments were successful but they were not sanctioned by the original orchestrators of the colonization, who considered the hybrids to be a pollution of the species. The Alien Assassin was sent to terminate the colony and its renegade members. He has a narrow mission and a defined protocol. He was, however, apparently persuaded by the Cigarette-Smoking Man to heal Agt. Mulder's ailing mother.
