Notes for Judson FOSTER
Judson's middle initial was probably J. There is a J.J. Foster listed as
a private in HOS, 27th Regiment, S.C.V., Company K. This is probably the
same J.J. Foster who is listed on the South Carolina Dead in CSA Service,
"Broken Fortunes". On this list, it gives his DS as Darlington.
However, HOS lists him as a Spartanburg soldier who died of disease,
10/15/1863. Further supporting evidence is the fact that this is the
same Regiment that B.H. Foster served in, though a different company.
Another piece of evidence is the fact that Judson's brother, William,
named a son Judson J. Foster ll.
Perhaps he was looking for a way to carry on his brother's name.
