named as heir-at-law in the inventory of his father's estate in 1743, and
also named an executor of his brother, Nathaniel's, estate in 1781;
was a member of the NC Assembly from Guilford Co., in 1773; moved to
Great Pedee, SC about the time of the Rev. War; married to Hannah Kolb;
only child, Elizabeth Kimbrough ), married Col. Lemuel Benton, and had a
daughter, Gilly Hinton Benton ), who married Isiah DuBoise.
