Samuel Lee received a land grant 7 May 1756 for 225 acres in Edgecombe
Parish on the Little Prong of Town Creek (and) on both sides of Beaver
Dam Swamp - being the Plantation where Martin Thorn lives. One of the
Sworn Chain Carriers was Joshua Lee, probably Mary (Lee) Thorn's brother.

Then on the 2nd of Nov. 1757, Samuel Lee of Northampton CO. sold to
Martin Thorn of Edge.CO. for 15 pounds money of VA. the same 225 acres on
the south side of Town Creek, joining Beaver Dam Swamp.
